How Paracetamol Alleviates Pain, Fever, and Inflammation

Paracetamol, widely used for pain relief and fever reduction, works through a few primary mechanisms within the body:

    • Inhibits the production of prostaglandins in the brain, reducing pain sensation.
    • Lowers hypothalamic set-point in the brain, which controls body temperature, aiding fever reduction.
    • Though primarily a pain reliever and fever reducer, it has minimal anti-inflammatory effects.
    • Works centrally in the nervous system, distinct from typical anti-inflammatory drugs, making it safer for regular use.
