How does doxycycline interact with proton pump inhibitors and are there risks of reduced efficacy or increased side effects when both medications are taken together?
Doxycycline absorption may be reduced by proton pump inhibitors due to increased gastric pH. This can decrease the efficacy of doxycycline.
