How does amoxicillin interact with probenecid and what are the benefits or risks of using these drugs together?
Amoxicillin and probenecid can be used together to treat some bacterial infections. Probenecid slows the kidney’s excretion of amoxicillin, increasing its blood levels and effectiveness. However, this may also increase the risk of side effects.
