Aspirin can be used to manage rheumatoid arthritis (RA) symptoms, primarily for pain relief and its anti-inflammatory effects. However, compared to modern disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and biologics, aspirin is less effective in controlling RA progression and has a higher risk of gastrointestinal side effects.
