What are the primary differences between Cetrotide and Lupron in IVF protocols, including their mechanisms of action, dosing schedules and potential side effects?
Cetrotide blocks GnRH receptors to prevent premature ovulation, used briefly. Lupron downregulates GnRH receptors, taken longer. Differ in duration and side effects like mood swings (Lupron).
Cetrotide blocks GnRH receptors to prevent premature ovulation, taken closer to ovulation time. Lupron lowers hormones to better control ovulation timing, taken earlier in the cycle.
