Ciprofloxacin may cause tendon rupture; to mitigate, avoid exercise and use caution in the elderly. It can also lead to cardiac arrhythmias; monitoring EKGs in at-risk patients is advised. Lastly, it might trigger CNS effects like seizures; dose adjustment may be required for patients with a history of CNS disorders.
